2nd Rec.

Pizza Mafia e Krautolino.

Come direbbe Lucarelli.
In particolare quella dell'est. Quale altrimenti?

> ok. Let's start. first question, why so many italian bands?

actually it's just giardini di miro, who've been with us from the
very beginning (and no matter how hard we try, we can't get rid of
them anymore) and twig infecton/tellaro, two different bands, but
with the same singer/guitarist. then of course there is pillow and
nuccini!, but these are all side projects from gdm... so yes, there
are a lot of italian releases on 2nd rec, but they are all done by few people.

> What of the italian style do u like more and what you hate

sometimes I admire people which are more outspoken, more emotional or
more laid-back... ( i think these are characteristics that are often
considered "italian"). but then there are situations where exactly
the same things totally annoy me. I love italian cuisine and i like the sound of the language. I haven't read much italian literature yet, but it's something I'd like
to check out.

> How do u think will be the music businnes in the next 5 years.

I don't think something dramatic will happen in the next 5 years. the
online business will grow, but we will still have CDs and vinyl. but
what will be in 20 or 30 years? we are the last generation who grew
up without mp3s and the internet, but in the future there will be
more and more people who never owned a "normal" CD-player, let alone
a record player. the kids today grow up in a world, where music is
stored on computers or cellphones. and they learn that it's available
for free everywhere, if you know where to look for it. the way music
will be consumed, perceived and maybe also appreciated will
definitely change and the business has to adjust to these new
circumstances.

> Do u know that generally italian people think that germans are
without sentiments, passionated just for beer,
basically perfect idiots? eheh...i was joking...the question is...who
will win the next world cup?

the passionless beer-drinking warmongers will win.

> 2nd rec has released a lot of different kind of music, from hip hop to
songwriting music and post rock...but i feel the presence of a
project behind those selections. Can you explane which is you label
manifest?

there's no real masterplan behind the selection of artists we are
working with. but everything we release is something we really love,
something we are really into, something we think is really good. i
hope there's a certain quality and originality in all our releases,
no matter if it's classic singer/songwriter stuff or electronic music
or hip hop.

> I've appreciated the position of old first minister Gerard Schroeder about Iraqui war. He was ableto say "no" to americans. My question is: it's cause we have already
lost two world-wars and for this century you prefer to be pacific? Or he has done a mistake and he lost next election for this reason?

he definitely hasn't lost the election because of this. actually most
germans supported his position, especially after it was obvious that
this war wasn't about the iraqi weapons of mass destruction.
I was glad that germany didn't send any troops to iraq, but I am not
sure if this decision was based on moral conviction or rather on
(domestic) political tactics.

> Who is the stylist of Angela Merkel?

she certainly didn't have a stylist all the years before, but as soon
as she started to campaign, she got a major overhaul. she looks way better now than two years ago.
I really don't like her and her politics, but I wouldn't trade her for your tanned, face-lifted, vain president.

> Are u the major of S.Pauli?

no. I don't even live there.

> Why a lot of music software-houses are from Germany. Lot of nerds?

I have no idea. maybe kraftwerk has something to do with it ;)

> why if you go into a back with a gun usually you dont need to wait a long wait?

never tried it.

> I've seen in your blog the pictures of your last new year's eve.
Can u explane to me what does it mean to be streight edge when
it's 31 of december and all the girls are drunks?
It's important to know this...

all the girls totally freaked out, danced around, got undressed....
and nobody did remember anything except me.

ok, if you like this ex tennis teacher and you want more info, please give a look to at2nd rec and buy records at Sonicane - On line record store.
